Getting Back on the Road: The past couple of weekends have found me working hard to get all of our bikes back on the road. The most difficult one was a two wheeler that Claire and I rescued from a curbside pile in Ottawa. It is an old Raleigh with a Nottingham logo and several Made in England decals. The most interesting feature is that all of the original nuts have a nice red and gold "R" on them. It needed quite a bit of work and I still haven't been able to get all of the grease out from under my fingernails but it is ready to roll! It got new wheels, a new shifter cable and a new basket. It also got it's chain, brakes, and rear derailer rebuilt, and let me say working with springs is a frustrating task! It's coming to you next weekend Laura, good luck learning to re-ride a bicycle!
