Drained: I didn't realize that they drain the canal for the winter. I'm not sure of the reason, I assume it's due to potential ice destruction. It's very interesting to see what's on the bottom of the canal, but surprisingly not that much garbage. It does put the Daniel McAllister high and dry and at a risk of toppling over;).
